How it Works

Lucky Lanes is a mobile bowling service that comes to you. Wherever folks gather to have fun, we’re ready to bowl.

Make your event unforgettable with retro bowling lanes that are hand-crafted by a Marin County artist who is known for building immersive experiences for all ages. No bowling shoes required and no experience necessary—just step up and give it a shot.

Lucky Lanes evokes the nostalgia of classic Americana. We specialize in introducing people to bowling culture. Read more about our story below.

We operate the lanes on-site at your event, handling everything from start to finish.

  • We set up the lanes on the day of your event, typically 90 minutes before it begins.

  • We operate the lanes for the duration of the event with attendants. We take down equipment same-day.

About Lucky Lanes

Trusted by organizations like OpenAI, the San Anselmo Recreation Department, Pond Farm Brewery, and the Yes Foundation, Lucky Lanes mobile bowling is ideal for family-friendly parties, company events, and special occasions.

Lucky Lanes is the creation of Alvin Petty, a Marin-based multidisciplinary artist. He’s nationally recognized for his immersive set building, mastery of airbrush technique, and iconic custom art for global rock bands.

Bowling is part of Alvin’s family legacy. In 1967, bowling was at its peak in the United States, with 12,000 alleys across the country. That year, Alvin’s mother Peggy, who learned to bowl from her father, started a Tiny Tots Junior League at Uptown Bowl in Richmond, California.

The league had 100 kids aged 2-12 years old, including Alvin, his sister, and two cousins. His mother and uncle coached their team.

Today, there are fewer than 3,000 bowling alleys in the US. At a time when this American tradition is at risk of disappearing, Alvin hand-built a lane for his neighbors to enjoy in his driveway — and the rest was history.

Lucky Lanes has been invited by companies that want a unique hand-hewn experience at their corporate parties, Recreation Department leaders who want a memorable activity at public town events, and local parents who are excited to introduce kids to the joy of bowling.
